About me

New York City-based, Romanian-born, creative professional enthusiast, I, Andrada Tataruca, immigrated to the US in 2015, driven by my passion for languages and desire to live in the world's advertising hub. In May 2024, I earned my B.S. in Advertising and Marketing Communications from the Fashion Institute of Technology, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. Prior to that, I graduated at the top of my class from the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication in Romania, where I first discovered my deep love for the creative industries.

Starting from scratch in New York, I supported myself by working in restaurants, swiftly progressing from a busser to a server, then to a bartender, and eventually to a captain in an exclusive French establishment on the Upper East Side.

Since childhood, my single mother inspired me to fearlessly pursue my dreams. From a young age, I developed a passion for writing, exploring languages such as Spanish and French independently. With my ability to speak five languages, I believe my cultural expertise enhances Advertising and Marketing Communication, enabling me to connect with diverse audiences and attract previously untapped clients.

In terms of graphic design, I discovered my talent during my Advertising studies in Bucharest, using specialized software to create advertisements and build brand identities. I fell in love with the limitless possibilities of graphic design, allowing me to express my creativity through typography, layout, and colors. Winning competitions and internships, such as creating a logo for a non-profit called "Building Dreams," affirmed my passion and abilities.

Skilled in problem-solving and conflict resolution, I prioritize fairness and loyalty. Colleagues and loved ones often turn to me for reliable guidance. Even in my restaurant work, I adeptly handled guest situations, ensuring their satisfaction through effective communication and resolution.

My ultimate aspiration is to become a Creative Director in a renowned advertising agency. I understand the importance of taking small steps and embracing challenges on the path to success. With my ambition, work ethic, cultural expertise, creativity, and passion for writing and graphic design, I am confident in achieving my dreams.

While I have limited free time due to my relentless dedication, I enjoy cooking nutritious meals, practicing yoga, and indulging in crime thrillers and psychological movies. And of course... spending time with my cat!
